As a premium men’s wear company, aussieBum keeps everyone on their toes with new styles being released on a regular basis.  I have a new Journey on the way that I bought over the weekend, but not to digress, I have worn, washed, re-worn two items out of  their CottonSoft range:

• Brief in Mountain Grey
• Hipster trunk in Metro Black

For your waistband: If you prefer a hipper metallic silver, go for Metro.  If you prefer a toned down “soft earth green”, go for the Mountain.  I found both undies’ fabric to be incredibly soft, made up of a 92% cotton, 8% elastane blend, these are cotton undies done right!  They are very well made, and I found their durability to be top notch!

The brief is a full cut pair of undies, which has a higher rise than I typically prefer.  I found the full rear cut to be nice for all day wear with little to no riding up where it’s uncomfortable.  The pouch holds everything pretty well, regardless of riding position.  If you are a briefs guy, this pair is totally for you!

The hipster is lower rise than the brief and I found the pouch to be more prominent with stitching designed to do a some extra supporting that wasn’t in the brief style.  The leggings pretty much stayed put down the leg, only riding up a little, requiring about two resets during the day.  Of the two, I lean towards preferring this pair, primarily because of the lower rise and pouch comfort / support.

The good: VERY well made undies with a choice of waistband colors that have held up well after two all-day wearings and a normal wash cycle.  If cotton is your fabric choice, aussieBum found the blend that, IMHO, is cotton done right!

The bad: Somewhat inconsistent in rise / pouch design between the brief and hipster (although not truly a bad, as it provides options in the same terrifically comfortable fabric in wear-ability) and only three colors in the two waistband options.

The verdict: These quickly moved to the top of my rotation!  The fabric, if you haven’t figured out so far, is amazingly comfortable.  aussieBum, as a premium underwear company, constructs these well and has a huge hit on their hands.  I have had more comments on twitter regarding this range more than any other “#undiesdojour”!
