Review (X2): 2(x)ist SLIQ Brief and Trunk

2(x)ist, in my humble opinion, is one of the premier companies that brought men’s fashion underwear to the mainstream.  They offer many designs, styles, fabrics, colors, and all of this in front of the general public in retail and specialty internet shops.  What is nice to see, however, is that 2(x)ist doesn’t stop innovating, and their new SLIQ line should raise the bar for this brand, and they are really going to have to reach high to beat this new high.

From 2(x)ist about SLIQ http://www.2xist.com/site/collection-detail.asp?wd=100024:

With extraordinary, provocative fashion, 2(x)ist redefines “sexy” for the modern man Fall 2010 with the introduction of the revolutionary collection called Sliq (sleek). The introduction of a Sliq Brief and a Sliq Trunk lead the way, both featuring a lower rise than before, super slim side widths exposing the thigh, and an (x)-treme contoured pouch for more support and better profile enhancement. The micro-fiber waistband is tipped with a bright red stripe, leading to the engineered 2(x)ist logo in a sexy and mysterious shadowed layout.

First of all, h/t to Men’s Underwear Store, where I bought my pairs.  They ship in discreet packaging same day, and even though it was shipped USPS First Class, I ordered on a Friday and received on a Monday!  For this review, I’m not going with my previous good / bad / verdict, because the verdict is these are some of the most comfortable undies I have ever worn from 2(x)ist.

The rise: One of my complaints with some recent lines from 2(x)ist, and one of the reasons some of their undies don’t end up at the front of my rotation, is that they are very inconsistent in what they call low rise.  The SLIQ line, however, absolutely delivers in the low rise department!

The pouch: I can’t say it’s particularly (x)-treme, especially when you have tried the Obviously or Andrew Christian Almost Naked, but it’s more of a pouch than 2(x)ist has ever put out before.

The fabric: Made from a 90% cotton 10% spandex blend, these are about what you would expect.  They both cling well, stretch just right in the right places (you can imagine here), and are extremely soft and light.

The wear: Both the brief and trunk have a wear that feels like you aren’t wearing anything, yet you are really well supported.  I’d say about a couple hours into the day, regardless of the cut I was wearing, literally forgot I had any underwear on!  This is how underwear is supposed to fit.

2(x)ist offers many colors and cuts for this line, so you can get a pair (or more) in whatever tickles your fancy!  What I can say, however, is that you will most certainly not regret your purchase, so get out there and buy one today!

Where can you buy these?
