Review — Curbwear Chelsea Polo Jockstrap

Hello! My name’s Grant and I’m a 23 year old recent college grad living in the Midwest. I’m super excited to start contributing to Undie Fan and talk about all things underwear. To get the ball rolling, I’ve got a review of a great jock that I recently got from HisJock – this is my first official review of a product, so go easy on me!

As a relatively new consumer of designer underwear products, there are still a lot of brands I have yet try (or even realize exist). Curbwear is one of those – I’d never even heard of the brand, so I was pleasantly surprised when HisJock sent me the Chelsea Polo jockstrap as a surprise item. Part of the fun of being an underwear fan is trying out new things, right? So, not only are jockstraps my preferable underwear style of choice, but I was excited to put this new brand name to the test.

I decided to dive right in and wear the jockstrap for the first time on a Wednesday, smack dab in the middle of a busy work week. Putting it on for the first time after my morning shower, I immediately got good vibes. Not only does the jock have a classic look with its solid black color and white and red lining (giving the look of a classic summer polo, hence the name), but the fabric on the jock is incredibly soft. It’s 95 percent cotton, but you immediately feel the quality of the fabric. In fact, I remember mentally noting the comfort of the fabric throughout the day at work. If comfort of a product is a top priority for you, you can’t go wrong here.

Also, if you like underwear that accentuates your package, this jock is an excellent choice for you. While some jocks accentuate your bulge more than others, the lightweight fabric and curved pouch design of the Chelsea Polo really puts an emphasis on showmanship – but that’s not to say it sacrifices support in any way. It manages to border the lines of fashionable and functional just about perfectly. And if you’re on the larger side of endowment like myself, I found that the pouch is also the perfect size.

The placement of the logo on the upper left corner of the pouch is a fun addition and leaves the waistband to remain classically solid and ultimately very sexy in its simplicity. The straps are your standard size and color – the only complaint I had was that a few stray threads were already coming undone on two locations on my waistband the first time I wore it. Granted, that could just be my specific product, and it’s definitely not enough to make me want to never buy Curbwear again. I’d be interested to hear if any commenters have experienced anything similar with any Curbwear products.

Not only did I work all day in this jock, but I did my late afternoon workout and even went out with friends at night in it as well. All told, I was wearing it for probably close to 14 hours and I didn’t want to take it off once. It’s that good! I’m a fan of jockstraps as underwear because they’re about as close you can get to having the comfort of going commando while still having all the support you need. The Chelsea Polo jockstrap does just that – it succeeds in all areas and will definitely be put into my regular rotation of underwear.

Hope to talk to you all soon! 🙂
